Cash assistance is financial help for individuals and families who need support covering everyday living expenses. It’s designed to help people stay stable when income isn’t enough to meet basic needs, including rent, groceries, utility bills, and other essentials. The goal is to provide short-term support so individuals and families can stay on track, reduce stress, and focus on building long-term self-sufficiency and meeting personal goals.

Eigibility Requirements
To qualify, a household Assistance Unit (AU) must include one of the following:
- A dependent child under age 18 who is enrolled in school if school-aged, or
- A dependent child under age 19 who is a full-time high school student or in a similar training program when you apply, or
- A pregnant woman with medical confirmation from a physician
In addition:
- The family must live in the SPIPA TANF service area
- The household must include a member of a federally recognized Indian Tribe
